Beautiful secluded villa in Tuscany! This 600 year old property has been beautifully restored with modern amenities while preserving the charm and loveliness. Three air conditioned bedrooms with en suite modern baths made this home comfortable even in the heat of summer. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals - which we enjoyed both in the large dining room and outside underneath the grapevine pergola. The swimming pool is beyond fantastic. This was a secluded oasis during our weeklong stay in Tuscany. The darling town of Montecarlo is nearby as is Lucca. Highly recommend!!

5 stare property set in the Tuscan hills The owners of this delightful Tuscan property live locally and are on hand if any help is required. The agent Angelika was wonderful. Attentive from the moment we booked until we departed and her ability to speak English was great for a non Italian speaker. Delightful fully enclosed family villa set within its own large garden which has many different types of fruit. Pool is of a good size. House is designed that even in the heat of the Tuscan summer unlikely that you will need the air conditioning. Villa is located in the Tuscan hills within walking distance of San Quirico and a short drive to a number of restaurants. Pescia with all facilities is about ten mins away by car along a winding hilly country road. Great place to relax, discard your watch and tell the time by the distant hourly chimes of the church bell, by the birds wakening up for the day, by the woodcutters going about their daily activities or by the dogs being fed in the distant kennels. If you are looking for a relaxing family time in a stunning villa with very attentive but unobtrusive hosts then hard to think where better. We loved it and have built up many happy memories of a great family holiday in the Tuscan sun.

Villa Commenda was wonderful. The ground and buildings are absolutely beautiful. Apparently Villa Commenda over its long history went from a Monastery to a Tobacco farm and is now a Villa. We went in early July and the country side was warm/hot during the day and cool at night. Which enabled us to use the pool often during the day. The pool was a good size. And then at night it was cool enough not to use the air conditioning although it does have air conditioning if needed. The cool breeze came over the mountain and came right through the house making for great sleeping conditions. Having one building with one bedroom and then another building with two bedrooms with the remaining bedrooms in the main house worked out perfectly for our group. Laura (the owner) was there when needed to make sure everything was taken care of. We had four dinners and three breakfasts prepared by Laura and the Villa staff and all were wonderful. The last night being especially wonderful with the home made ravioli followed by a grilled strip steak. The Villa was wonderful but I also have to mention the area around the Villa as well. The town of Anghiari is a 5 minutes drive away. We had made a wrong turn trying to find the Villa and came down a road right next to Angihari and everyone in both vans jaws dropped. It is something to see sitting on top of a hill with its 50 foot walls protecting the city. There is an elevator at the bottom of the wall that takes you up to the sightseeing terrace at the top of the wall which looks out over the valley. There is parking at the bottom of the wall which made for easy access. Walking the street of Angihari was something out of a dream. Other places we visited from the Villa were La Verna (40 minutes) which is where Saint Francis of Assisi experienced the stigmata. It is an amazing Monastery at the top of Mount Penna. The views and grounds are something to behold. We also had lunch and tasted local olive oil. We traveled to Arezzo (30 minutes) for the antique festival. Arezzo is where the movie Life is Beautiful was filmed so you can image the beauty there. We traveled to Montalcino for wine tasting which was a little further away (1 1/2 hours) but we were set on Brunello wine. Montepulciano with its wonderful wine which we did not visit is about one hour away. Laura the Villa owner had a list of twenty other places to visit which were local (under an hour) that we did not get a chance to visit. My Family and I will always remember the great time we had at Villa Commenda. It was our first taste of Italy and it surely will not be our last. “
