Even though lavender doesn’t have a long tradition in Tuscany, today there are several local farmers growing these beautiful flowers.
Walking through blooming lavender fields is truly special: the intense fragrance, the stunning colors, and the butterflies all around create a magical atmosphere.
A Special Lavender Field in Massarosa (Lucca)
In Massarosa, on Via delle Viottole, a little hidden near Lake Massaciuccoli, you’ll find a wonderful lavender field.
It all started in 2010 with just a few lavender plants near the historic center of Massarosa. Over the years, with patience and care, it has grown into a field with more than 5,000 lavender plants.
Everything here is handmade – from taking care of the plants to creating lavender products – without any chemical treatments.
The lavender products are very popular and can be purchased directly at the field. A perfect gift for family and friends!
