1. The Ancient Camellia Exhibition in Lucca
One of the must-see spring events is the Mostra Antiche Camelie della Lucchesia. In 2025, this charming exhibition will be open for four weekends in March (8-9, 22-23, and 29-30 March) in the villages of Pieve and Sant’Andrea di Compito. Visitors can admire a stunning variety of camellias, enjoy live music, taste local food, and take part in many other activities.
2. The Iris Garden in Florence
At the foot of Piazzale Michelangelo lies a hidden gem: the Iris Garden. Created in 1954 to host an international iris competition, it is open every year from April 25 to May 20, with free entrance (dogs are not allowed). During this period, guided tours, workshops, and other special events take place.
3. San Rossore Park
For nature lovers, San Rossore Park is an excellent destination. Covering 23,000 hectares, it stretches between Pisa and the sea and offers diverse landscapes: sandy beaches with dunes, forests, and wetlands. Visitors can explore numerous walking and cycling trails, while the most ecologically sensitive areas can only be visited with an environmental guide.
4. FAI Spring Days
If you love discovering hidden cultural treasures, don’t miss the FAI Spring Days! On a special weekend in March (2025 dates still to be confirmed), many private villas, historic gardens, churches, and other normally inaccessible sitesopen their doors to the public. It’s a unique opportunity to explore Tuscany’s secret wonders!

Nestled in Garfagnana, Orecchiella Park is a fantastic place to enjoy nature, hike through the forests, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
